EXPERIENCE :
Dean Bedford, the system designer of Gemini Seawater Systems LLC, has over 33 years in the field of membrane system design, fabrication, operation and troubleshooting. Dean has led the design and construction of eight major facilities with capacities greater than 1 Million Gallons Per Day (MGD), and 20 systems below 1 MGD. These facilities utilize both open seawater intakes and beach wells.
Prior to establishing Gemini Seawater Systems, Dean was a consultant to Dupont Permseap@. In this capacity he assisted Dupont Permasep@ licensees in seawater plant design, overall process evaluations, and development of plant operations and maintenance plans and budget. His projects included the 20, 35 and 50 MGD Tampa Bay Water alternative supply project, the 10 MGD Dupont Research and Development facility for Pinellas County Florida, and a 2 MGD seawater desalination facility in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Dean was formerly the General Manager of Aqua Design (BVI) Limited and Director for Island Operations for Aqua Design (acquired by Ionics and subsequently by GE Water), a California company with desalination faciltiies throughout the Caribbean and installations at the Pacific Islands Club, Saipan Diamond Hotel (now World Resorts), DFS Saipan, Kingfisher Golf Course on Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. Dean also redesigned the Ionics Desalination Plant at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.
Dean's capabilities are demonstrated by the operational superiority and performance of his plant designs, some of his earlier systems installed in the early 80's and 90's are still in operation in the Caribbean and Northern Marianas, and has provided resorts such as Diamond Hotel Saipan (now World Resorts) reliable desalted water as designed with superior reliability and availability.
